Back in July we introduced a significant, new module into the Analytics SEO Platform – Market Visibility. In this module we assess your site’s overall organic ‘visibility’ for all your monitored keywords against all sites ranking in the top 2 pages of the SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages).
Today’s update lets you benchmark your total visibility against competitors by adding and removing different domains from the results.
We’ve also made it easy to categorise your competitors, making it possible to quickly navigate between different groups of related domains, spotting trends and identifying opportunities.
Getting started quickly and easily
We’ve made it really easy to get started with the new functionality in this module by importing your existing competitors into Market Visibility and automatically creating a new category called “competitors”. (Note, if you wish to benchmark your performance against competitors that don’t generally rank for the same keywords, then you may have to manually add these domains to the module – if you need a hand with this, just get in touch with our support team.)
Creating, editing and viewing categories in Market Visibility
We’ve now made it possible to categorise competing domains inside Marketing Visibility – and adding new categories, editing them and viewing results within them are all easy to do. Let’s start with adding a new category inside Market Visibility…
Adding a new category inside Market Visibility
To add a new category inside the Market Visibility Module, you will first need to select the domains that you wish to be added to the new category. After you do that, simply click on the “Bulk Options” dropdown menu. From there you will see the option to add a new category. Simply follow the prompts from there to add and save your new category.
Viewing your category results in the Market Visibility graph
After adding your new category, you may wish to view your category results visually by displaying the results as a line graph. To do that, all you need to do is to select the category you wish to view from the “Site Category” dropdown menu underneath the graph.
If you decide that you wish to change an existing category, that’s easy to do too. Just click directly on the existing category name to the “Site Category” column and you’ll be provided with the option to either add it to an alternative, existing category – or create a brand new category.
Viewing results by category
Finally, it’s also possible to view the results by category, so you can compare like-for-like directly. This lets you compare metrics like overall visibility, keywords and URLs side-by-side to make it easy to spot the movers and shakers!
Many businesses have multiple products or services and different types of customers. This means that you may have different competitors depending on what product or customer segment you’re focusing on. The improvements to Market Visibility will help you segment your competitors based upon your own category preferences.
