The Challenge

PriceMinister.com, now part of the Rakuten group, is one of the leading eCommerce sites in France, serving thousands of products to millions of customers. It is competing in a market with stiff competition (Amazon, eBay, FNAC, Darty, Cdiscount, etc) and had suffered from a period of declining SEO visibility. It approached Authoritas to build an automated approach to devising and automatically implementing a winning SEO and content marketing strategy at scale across millions of keywords with high commercial intent from the Web Graph.

The Process

Authoritas analysed the entire relevant ecommerce market in France by looking at the top 100 competing sites and produced a prioritised list of natural content themes and topics, keywords and pages for PriceMinister to action.

PriceMinister’s SEO and Data Science team then undertook a Content Gap Analysis exercise at an unprecedented scale.  By integrating over 4.3 million keywords from Authoritas with its own internal data, the team created a process to programmatically create new product landing pages by matching this huge market data with its own product catalogue to identify content gaps and what the perfect page might look like for a given topic.
